In a small corrupt settlement in the Wild West, the tumbleweeds are the only prospect of authenticity until a retired bronc buster named Alonzo Bill rides into town. A lifelong cynic of the supernatural, he takes advantage of others’ fears of the unknown. He finds it easier and more profitable to make a living as a con artist rather than a cowboy. Feeding into the desperation and naivety of the town’s residents, he swindles anyone fearing the paranormal haunts them.

The luxury of his new career filled with fame, riches, and little effort seems perfect until he meets his match when called to assist a preacher with a unique situation. Confounded by what he witnesses leads him to question all of his prior convictions and calls him to carry out purging the earth of unfathomable evils. Find out what happens when a coming to Jesus moment inspires a con to become the ultimate judge, jury, and executioner of sinister forces.

Burying bodies ain’t always easy when you’re a retired cowboy.

Fans of Westerns are in for a treat with Gitte Tamar's Ten-Cent Man. It's the 1860s. Alonzo Bill is a womanizing cowboy with a love of alcohol. Over the years, he has managed to establish himself as the resident ghost hunter in a small town in the Wild West. With the town sheriff as his partner, Alonzo takes advantage of the superstitions of the local townsfolk to run a profitable business as a con man. However, when Preacher Boone seeks his help in treating his eleven-year-old daughter, who might be possessed, Alonzo realizes that the supernatural might be all too real. Reborn as a man of faith, Alonzo sets off following the trail of a bottle of holy water to arrive in the decrepit town of Whittletown, where he will confront his past.

Gitte Tamar takes readers on a rollercoaster of a ride into the Wild West. Featuring swaggering cowboys, brainwashed cults, and a tinge of the supernatural, Ten-Cent Man captivates you from beginning to end. Keeping a brisk pace, the author weaves a gripping narrative that switches back and forth in time following the adventures of a rogue in search of redemption. The plot is unpredictable and filled to the brim with suspense, mystery, and hair-raising moments that keep you on the edge of your seat. The potent combination of thrills and dark humor gives the narrative a unique tone that makes for a very entertaining reading experience. I found myself thoroughly invested in Alonzo's tale and very much enjoyed it. I highly recommend this book to lovers of Westerns and thrillers."
